PMGlobe 3 -- a programmable World Globe display program
  -------------------------------------------------------

PMGlobe 3 is a program for Windows 2000 and Windows XP which displays
the Earth as a globe. It can be run as an application or as a screen
  saver.

You can choose to view the globe from any direction, or select one of
a number of "standard" views. You can also change the image shown on
the globe's surface, or supply your own.

In addition to simply displaying a picture of the world, PMGlobe will
let you light the globe as though by sunlight - so you can see at a
glance those areas of the globe where the sun has risen, and where it
is night. Additional options add shading to the globe for a
three-dimensional effect, and let you measure and track distances
between points on the globe. Other features are described in the
  PMGlobe documentation, available from:

    http://www.cary.demon.co.uk/pmglobe/

With the command and macro interface included with PMGlobe, you can
add markers, labels (such as city or place names), clocks and drawings
to the globe and have more control over its actions. If you wish, you
can use Rexx as a macro language for PMGlobe - all of the PMGlobe
commands can be used in a Rexx macro.

  Automatic installation
  ----------------------

Opening the PMGlobe.msi file should start automatic installation of
the package; during installation you will be given the opportunity
to choose weher PMGLobe is installed. The sample macros, etc., will
be placed in the chosen directory (as will the .ini file containing
the program's settings for both application use and the Screen Saver.

The package can also be installed manually, as described below.

  Manual installation package contents (pmglobe3.zip)
  ---------------------------------------------------

  This package should include:

     readme.txt -- (this file)
license.txt -- IBM License Agreement for this software
pmglobe3.pdf -- documentation in PDF (Adobe Acrobat) format
     pmglobe3.exe -- the program

together with the following macros to try and/or modify:

sample.pmg -- shows selected cities with their local times
     triangle.pmg -- simple graphics macro
myzone.pmg -- simple macro to change titlebar

(If you modify any of these macros it is suggested that you give them
a new name, and preferably put them in a different directory, so your
changes are not lost if you later re-install or update the package.)

  Installing & running PMGlobe 3
  ------------------------------

Simply unpack the files into the directory of your choice, then
start pmglobe3.exe. This should show a view of the globe.

After experimenting with the various menu options, you might like to
try the 'Run Macro...' option (in the Options menu). Selecting
'sample.pmg', for example, should add some selected cities to the
globe, along with their local time-of-day clocks. You can make
your own version of this with places and labels of your own choosing.

Another well-liked option is 'Full screen', which fills your screen
  with the globe.  PMGlobe can also be installed as a Screen Saver;
please see the full documentation for details on how to do this.

Thank you for reading this read-me.
